Integration of Azure VM based CRM sytem into an existing O365 E3 domain

Hi,
I had posted this before at the office365 community but they kindly requested that I turn to you. I hope im not wearing out my welcome by opening my first discussion in the wrong forum group but, it does taste of crm deployment even though dynamix isn't part of the inquiry - so here goes.

I have a customer project inquiry as to the following scenario which is to expand upon an existing office365 E3 environment.

Customer wishes to install a third party CRM system, based on a SQL 2014 database that is to run within an Azure 2012 R2 VM (not yet created). Clients are to access the Azure CRM DB VM via https directly via single-sign-on that authenticates users through the existing E3 AD. The third party CRM system itself would require access to any existing E3 sharepoint libraries as well as the E3 exchange mail database. The customer has no on-premises components. Everything is to run directly within the cloud. Currently nine users will be working with CRM with a few to be added later should workflow be satisfactory.

I currently have no experience with Azure or CRM implementation. Installation of the CRM will be done by the software manufacturer themselves. I have only been asked to create a foundation upon which the system is to be installed and make sure it functions properly by sourcing and preparing any necessary components.

So without further ado, having been thrown into the cold waters, I’m looking for any tips or information on how the above could be realized. Is the above even feasible? Suggestions?
Cheers

Michael
