Best Approach for simple use

Hi,

Have a small non profit looking to track pledges & those that turn into donations. They use campaigns so being able to track results from campaigns is important. The reason i am posting here is that we want to make this as simple as possible for the users. Dont want to have to create a lead, then convert to opportunity etc etc

Just want to use one entity. prefer not to use line items but would like to use estimated amount & estimated date.

Have been down the track of the MS Labs templates but for various reasons dont want toi use them. Looks like the opportunity entitiy might be the way to go but cant see how this can be lin ked in a campaign.
