Hi guys,
Today I just happened to find out one of our old test CRM 2011 servers is only assigned a single core x64 AMD CPU by its host VM. It did show some erratic behavior in async service, but most of the other stuff was working fine. It was on Windows Server 2008 R2 and wasn't running any other software or services.
Official system requirements here (for 2013 here) states that the CPU needs to be at least "x64 architecture or compatible dual-core 1.5 GHz processor". This sounds a little bit vague and can be interpreted in two ways if you replace the "or" with a slash.
1) x64 architecture / compatible dual-core 1.5 GHz processor- this sounds "any x64 architecture processor with any speed or any compatible dual-core 1.5 GHx processor"
2) x64 architecture or compatible / dual-core 1.5 GHz processor - sounds "processor has to be either x64 or compatible, and must have 2 cores with 1.5 GHz speed"
Given that for both 2011/2013 the processor requirements are same, the big question is, does the server mentioned above meet the minimum system requirements? What's the correct interpretation? Is it a must to have more than one core?
Thanks.
