When setting up IFD, do I have to have to use auth.domain.com?

Hi all,

I've had some conflicting information about this and just wanted to get people's opinions.

We currently have an existing on premise, IFD CRM 2011 system that use the auth.domain.com URL as expected. We are currently setting up a new on premise, IFD CRM 2013 system and would like to keep the URL structure the same. However, I've had conflicting information about how we refer to this. Some resources say that I can specify what this is called in the IFD settings on Deployment Manager, others say that the auth sub domain name have to be this exact text.

I'd love to be able to use the existing URL structure as this will make things so much easier for the customers. I'd rather not have to buy an additional domain name and security certificate.

I'm assuming that this will also apply to dev.domain.com and sts.domain.com.
