Credentials not updating after upgrade (CRM Outlook Plugin crashes)

Hi all,

Upgrading CRM 2011 Outlook Plugin to CRM 2013 Outlook Plugin using SCCM, and while the upgrade itself runs without issue, when Outlook is opened after the upgrade, CRM Configuration Wizard attempts to configure the Organization, and Outlook crashes.

I believe I've narrowed it down to the CRM 2011 Generic Credentials not being changed during the upgrade. The 2011 credentials remain after CRM 2013 is installed.

The workaround I've come up with is to manually remove the CRM 2011 server from the 2013 Configuration Wizard, then open Outlook - CRM is then able to successfully initialize the Organization.

My question is why is this happening? I have a pretty sizable deployment coming up and I would really rather not have to do this for all these users.

The install script I'm using is

@echo off
echo Installing Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 for Outlook x86"%~dp0SetupClient.exe" /q /i "%~dp0Default_Client_Config.xml" /l c:\clientinstall.log

The Default_Client_Config.xml I'm using is

<Deployments><Deployment><DiscoveryUrl>https://our.organization.com/</DiscoveryUrl><Organizations><Organization IsPrimary='true'>OurOrg</Organization></Organizations></Deployment></Deployments>

Again, the install is fine, and after the 2011 credential is manually removed CRM initializes without issue.

Thank you
